Unit 1 What is the matter？
Ability aims :
1、To help students understand and master the words, phrases and sentence patterns.
2、Students learn to inquire about other peoples condition. And Students can learn about other peoples physical condition with the words they learn.
Words: matter; have; cold; stomachache; sore; back; arm; ear; eye; foot; hand; head; leg; mouth; neck; nose; stomach; tooth; throat; toothache; fever; rest; honey; dentist; should; headache; shouldn’t
Phrases: have a cold have a sore throat have a fever see a dentist
1. What’s the matter? I have a cold.
2. I have a headache/stomachache/toothache/sore back/sore throat.
3. You should go to bed/drink some water.
Help the students learn how to talk about health problems and give advice on that with the language points.

One period(45 minutes)
Step1 Warming up(5 minutes)
1. Attract students’ attention
A short video about life disease. Let students write as many words as possible about body parts and sick words as much as possible. Then the students asked the students to label themselves without knowing the words. After the short video is over, the classroom can explain some words that most students do not understand.
Step 2 listening and reading(10min)
Let students look at the pictures on the blackboard and learn the new words about the parts of the body.First teacher let the students raise their hands and try to read the words.Next the teacher should explain and guide the students to guess the meaning of the word and correct the pronunciation of the students. The teacher asked the students to write down words that were not familiar and practise under the class.
Step3 Relax( 3min)
A song to help students relax themselves .The teacher give the lyrics to the students and let students sing along.
Task 1、 Let the students fill in the blanks in the book and ask questions in the classroom.And give the answer.

Task 2、Make a sentence pattern by the different symptoms of the characters in the picture. Teachers need to write the main sentence patterns on the blackboard .Teachers explain the meaning of sentence patterns and the composition of basic sentence patterns. And emphasize the usage of the suffix ache.
Step5 After-learning(5 minutes)
Pairwork: The teacher asked the students to choose a small partner to complete a small conversation through the picture they gave. And teacher take a few groups to share the front .
Consolidating sentence patterns in combination with classroom practice .
And do your homework that teacher gives you .
Copy all the useful expressions or collocations in the passage to the notebook.
In this lesson, we should learn how to care about others illness. Learn to care for students and family better .
