【Free talk】
Use sentence pattern “Could you please…” to make polite requests or ask for permission.
【学习目标】
1. 能掌握下列单词和短语:throw, threw, neither, pass, borrow, lend, hate, while, all the time, in surprise
2. 重点掌握以下句型:
(1) The minute I sat down in front of the TV, my mom came over.
(2) For one week, she did not do any housework and neither did I.
(3) “What happened?” she asked in surprise. 
3. 用could委婉地表示请求或许可。

一、自主学习:
1. 学生自读3a, 记忆文中的重点语句。
2. 小组互相检查3a的读、重点语句的听写.
3. 小组共同完成3a and 3b, 4a and 4b.
4. Recite Grammar focus.
5. Role-play the conversation: Make a list of things you needs to do for a school trip. Discuss who will do them.
二、合作探究、质疑解惑:
1. borrow & lend
borrow表示“向别人借”,暂时使用,为非延续动词,不能与表示一段时间的时间状语连用,一般borrow与from连用。例如:
① You can borrow this book from the library. 你可以从图书馆里借这本书。
② May I borrow your bike? 我可以借一下你的自行车吗?
borrow的反义词为lend表示“借给某人”,常与to连用,可以跟双宾语。例如:
Mike lent a book to John. = Mike lent John a book. 迈克借给约翰一本书。
注意:在表达“借了多长时间”时,既不能用borrow 也不能用lend, 因为他们是终止性动词,要用keep。如:
--How long may I keep the book? 这本书我可以借多长时间?
--You can keep it for two weeks. 你可以借两周.
2. For one week, she did not do any housework and neither did I.
neither用作副词,作“也不”解释,放在句首,表示前面否定的内容也适用于另一个人或物,句子须采用部分倒装。此时也可用nor替换neither使用。
--I don't like this dress. 我不喜欢这件连衣裙。
--Neither / Nor do I. 我也不喜欢。
3. I’ll finish my homework while you help me with the dishes.
while作并列连词用,意思为“而,然而”,表对比。而but表转折,注意用心比较体会while与but的句中用意。例如:
Some people waste food while others haven't enough.
有些人很费粮食,然而有些人却吃不饱。
Honey is sweet but the bee stings. 蜂蜜很甜,但蜜蜂有刺蜇人
