I got into the teaching profession by choice. When I was in the 9th grade, my math teacher asked me to help a few students who were not good at math. Before that, I never knew teaching would be so interesting.
After my graduation, I worked as a software(软件)developer. But I realized that no job could provide me with the satisfaction that I experienced while teaching. I decided to be a teacher. I applied to a few colleges, and finally I was chosen as a “Lecturer(讲师)”.
On the first day, I was nervous because I had to teach the senior classes. But now I can say that taking lectures was one of the best experiences in my life. I was a Computer Science and Information Technology lecturer, but I tried to help my students with subjects that were not within my profession. I felt excited when the students greeted me, “Good morning, Madam”.
To me each day was a new beginning, with new feelings, new experiences and new questions. I loved to open their young minds, and read their curious(好求知的)faces when a topic seemed difficult. Though few things never seemed easy, it was very exciting to try my best. That is the reason why I love to teach.

Computers are slowly replacing(代替)human beings at some work. Can computers replace human beings as teachers? My opinion is certain, they can. They can not only do the work of a teacher, but also can do it better.
I will tell you the advantages of computers. In the class, children are often distracted(分心)by things like what the teacher is wearing, or the feeling the teacher has. These things make students not center on the topic that is being taught. With computers playing the role of teachers, students will no longer have any such distraction and will be able to pay more attention to the subject.
Another advantage of computers is that unlike humans they do not need rest because of bad health or any other personal reasons. The programs can make sure that computers will work with few mistakes.
There is another reason why computers might be preferred to human teachers. It is impossible for a computer to prefer some students to others. Some poor students greatly depend on the support and encouragement of their teachers. So, neglect(忽视)will never happen to them by learning from the computers. Human teachers may make mistakes because of personal feelings while evaluating(评估)students’ performance. This can be avoided. The process of evaluation will be faster, too.
For these reasons, I think that computers can replace human beings as teachers. In addition, it can be a better replacement.

A new research suggests that little physical activity may leave six-to eight-year-old boys behind on their reading skills.
Researchers from the University of Eastern Finland, working together with the University of Jyv ä skyl ä and the University of Cambridge, discovered that sedentary(久坐的)behavior has connection with poor school performance in the first three school years.
Researchers discovered that high levels of moderate-to-vigorous(中等到高等强度的)physical activity and low levels of sedentary time in Grades One to Three had something to do with better reading skills in Grades One to Three among boys who had both low levels of physical activity and high levels of sedentary time had the poorest reading skills through Grades One to Three, said researcher Eero Haapala, Ph. D.
In the study, the researchers studied the longitudinal associations(纵向关联)with physical activity and sedentary time with reading and math skills in 153 children aged six to eight years old in Grades One to Three of the primary school. Physical activity and sedentary time were recorded by using a heart rate and movement sensor(传感器)in Grade One, and reading and math skills were checked by standard tests in Grades One to Three.
What is interesting is that when they studied the girls, researchers did not find a strong relationship between sedentary time and physical activity and their performance of reading or math skills.
According to the research findings, it is believed that the findings suggest that encouraging boys to have a physically active lifestyle may clearly improve their school performance in reading.
