China’s Green Beat is the first green media in China. It provides enjoyable short films for people to care about environmental problems. It has created more than ten short films in order to teach people about environmental problems through some stories.
It was set up by John Romankiewicz from the USA and Shane Zhao from China. John graduated (毕业) from Northwestern University and came to China to learn Chinese and developed a career in renewable (可再生的) energy. He hoped to get further study on China’s environmental problems. At the same time, Shane, a high school graduate from Heilongjiang, was introduced to John by a friend. They decided to set up China’s first video podcast (播客) about the environment in 2008, named China’s Green Beat. The next year, it added a new green brother Rene Ng, a Canadian-born Chinese actor and writer working in Beijing. With his help, their short films have got a lot of public’s attention (注意). I'm not really sure what I will do in ten years. I guess that I will get a job, but I don't know what job I want to do yet. Maybe an actor or a filmmaker? But I can clearly tell you what I'll do next week — celebrate my birthday with friends.
There's one thing I really want to do and that is to travel around the world. Hopefully I will live somewhere completely different in ten years — somewhere really interesting like Australia or even Japan. I'd like to be a teacher and I'll probably teach English. Then I can go to almost any country and find a job.
When I was little, I always said I wanted to be a doctor and that hasn't changed. I will definitely (一定地) study medicine after I finish high school. I know it will be a lot of hard work, but it's my dream. So in ten years I guess I will work in a hospital as a doctor and save people's lives.
I'm not really sure about the future. I know that I'm going to go to university but I also imagine that I will get married sometime in the next ten years. I'd like to have a family but I also want to have an interesting job. I'm interested in environmental protection, so in ten years, I'll probably work as a scientist and help develop alternative energy (替代能源) or something like that.

Many large cities are not so beautiful. There is a lot of rubbish in the streets. However, some of the rubbish can be useful. If people want to solve the problem, they should do it right now. They must take action to make use of rubbish. In this way, some good things will not be thrown away as waste.
When a car gets too old, it may not run any more. But if the metal (金属) that the car was made of is still good, we can use it to make something else. When a bottle is empty, it will be thrown away. But the bottle glass can be made into sand and used to build streets. Rubbish from food can be changed into fertilizer (肥料). It is cheap and safe. Other rubbish can also be used to make buildings. It can be mixed with concrete (混凝土) to form special bricks. Now, more and more machines are designed for that.

As we all know, the environment around us is getting worse and worse. It’s time for us to do something to protect it. But do you know how?
First, we could use public transportation, walk or ride a bike when possible. It makes less pollution in the air. Second, we should not drop litter everywhere. When we see it on the street, we should pick it up. Last but not least, we must plant more trees to improve the air quality.
If all of us try our best, I believe our environment will become better and better. Let’s take action and help build a green world!
